usually in the exe, in this case photoshop.exe
(sometimes in support dlls too.)
what folder are they located in?
they are inside the .exe or .dll file probably photoshop.exe … I’m sure you can figure out the path to it.
Thanks but let me clarify. I need the icons for .tiff, .abr, psd etc. Not just the generic photoshop "PS" icon.
I think you are expecting to see individual icon files, i.e. "tiff.ico" but that is not done anymore. They are all stored in the Resources section of the Photoshop executable (or whatever other program you have assigned to the file type). You can view them all with a resource editor or with a read-only program like FileAlyzer (it’s free–just Google it).

When you say icons do you mean the file extension icons.
If so, click my computer, the click Tools, then Folder Options and finally File Types.

what grahamtav said, then select advanced and change icon. select the photoshop.exe which should be in (or around) ‘C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop cs3’ or something very similar.
with that selected you can choose the icon to use for a particular file type.
if, as others have said, you need the icon files, you’ll need an icon extractor utility (google) to get them out of the exe. or rely on the stuff phos posted…
Thanks I was using Microangelo icon program. I opened the exe and found what I needed. Thanks.
