I had PShop 6.0 and created an action (reduced the image size 50%) then when I selected in the automate window "save and close" it would save the JPG without poping up the JPG options. It would just save it and close.

When I bought PShop 7.0, the same action now pops up the JPG options each image in the folder its running the action in. So I have been going back to 6.0 to run the action so I dont have to deal with the pop up options.

Is there a way to tell 7.0 to stop asking me the JPG options ?

Thanks
Paul

Paul,

In short, the only way to avoid that dialog is to batch your operation rather than run the action one at a time. Here’s a different way to do the same thing on a folder of files that avoids the issue altogether.

When creating an action eliminate any File|Open or File Close commands, that will be passed to control of the batch dialog. Record the following:

Image|Image Size (enter params); File|Save AS. Enter in all your specifics including compression. Filename, path, and compression will be "hard coded" into the action. Next, toggle the dialog for the Save As part to OFF.

You are now ready to run this on a folder of images. File|Automate|Batch.

Action to run – reduce 50% and save as jpg
Source – Folder (or files selected in the browser, or opened files) Destination – Folder
Choose – pick the destination
Check the box that says "Override Save As Information" Optionally choose a naming convention.

When you hit "go", each file from the source will open (if not already open), reduce size by your params, and will save as a JPG to the destination folder. They will open one by one, and save and close automatically.

Peace,
Tony

Because of a bug, 6.0 didn’t prompt for JPEG settings…..
