What happened to the Extract and Pattern Maker filters in Photoshop CS4? Are they gone or placed somewhere else?

They are no longer installed with CS4. They are dead. They are included on the CD in the goodies folder for those that like to play with dead things. 🙂

eww! does the box come with a stick so you can poke them, or do you need to get your own stick? 🙂

You should also be able to download them from the website. < http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb 404900>

You need your own stick.

If you purchased the download they are included in the folder 2nd file called Photoshop Content\English\Goodies\Optional Plug-ins\Plug-ins 32-bit\Filters. You will need to go all the way down that path to "extract" them.

Hi guys,

I might be an old fart! But I love extract… Are there any other way to make transparent pixels on the edges on the object you want cut out?

Personally I cry at night for the semi-loss of Extract! This means that Adobe wont improve it any more and with time the filter might be all gone!?!

cheers
