So, I had a terrible time solving an issue where Photoshop CS4 would not run properly with my HP Compaq. The graphics card would not update to the latest driver because it hadn’t gone through HP’s system. If I tried to install the display driver from ATI (8.10), it wouldn’t work. And, the latest driver version from HP (8.4?) wasn’t working.
So, after an hour each with Adobe’s, ATI’s, and HP’s techsupport i found a link here:

Long story short, Mobility Modders let me update to the lastest display driver and now CS4 works. I’m posting this here in hopes that it helps someone else.
