Hi,

I´m trying to open a JPEG image but this time an error occurs.

"Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found"

Ité the first time it occurs, and occurs only with this JPG file…..This file was extracted for a CD. Bridge does preview the image but I cannot open in any software, as Photoshop.

Does anyone have ideia what can I do?

Thanks for any answer.

have you tried viewing in your web browsers? if you get them to open you can copy from there and paste into a new document.

if you can’t open it in any other software, it’s probably toast.

I took a look at one of Gustavo’s files — and it’s not a JPEG. It does have an embedded TIFF thumbnail, but the rest of the file is either corrupted or something really odd.

from another thread chris, it’s locked down and encrypted by a program called FlipAlbum.

Yes…..

It´s not a corrupted file…..

It´s a encripted JPEG…really…and I´m not able to find any solution to solve….

My purpose is not to break that security….and use that photos. The program only displays full screen slide show. (perhaps print screen could help me but its not my aim…it´s a poor resolution)

The problem is that the partner I´m trying to help is the photographer which has taken the photos…He had that photos stored only in another normal DVD, normal JPEGS, but that CD is not running anymore….risked, damaged. We tried to rescue that photos with a variety of softwares. but no sucess.

The unique photo-copy is that photos along a cd managed by that program…..perhaps that software criptographes the format.

I know that program for a long time. We use it to block customers from taking off that photos….for sure.
But now….We are in the opposite side…and making head sppining to save photos.

We had a guest speaker in the Photo club who had encrypted all his pictures in such a program. They were all tucked up in an exe file and, when you double-clicked it, it asked for a password.

Trouble was it took 20 minutes on the club laptop to decrypt!
