I´m having a big trouble and cannot solve myself. It must be very easy but I cannot find any solution

One of my partners have a CD managed by a program called FlipAlbumCd. There is over 1200 JPEG photos along that CD

I can see a slide show. There is a folder where that 1200 JPG are located. Adobe Bridge can also preview that photos either.

When trying to open any of that photos an error occurs: Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found.

How can I open this format? It´s first time I see this error. It´s not a normal JPG? can I have an addictional plugin?

Thank you for any answer.

managed by a program called FlipAlbumCd

is it copyrighted material that you shouldn’t be opening? lots of pro photographers (ex. for things like weddings) put their photos into a program like that to give people the ability to choose among proofs while protecting their work by keeping them from just printing all the images without going though the photographer.

if you can see actual jpgs in the folder structure, can they be opened in any other program?

Hi Dave

Yes..I know….The partner I´ve mentioned in the first post is the photographer which has taken the photos…He had that photos stored only in another normal DVD, normal JPEGS, but that CD is not running anymore….risked, damaged. We tried to rescue that photos with a variety of softwares. but no sucess.

The unique photo-copy is that photos along a cd managed by that program…..perhaps that software criptographes the format.

I know that program for a long time. We use it to block customers from taking off that photos….for sure.
But now….We are in the opposite side…and making head sppining to save photos.

Would it be possible to do anything?

Thank´s a lot.

I would think maybe you can contact FlipAlbum with your problem and they might have an unlocker or something as you are the owner of the images.

I don’t think there’s going to be anything you can do outside of FlipAlbum if they’re encrypted.

best of luck, and please let us know what you find out if FlipAlbum is able to help you…

Hi Dave…

Thank you for helping me anyway.

I´ll follow your advice and try to contact FlipAlbum….but I find it difficult to solve my problem….because it would get the risk to fall off the ability of blocking files……it´s the magic of his program.

But….I´ll try

Thank´s a lot. If I get sucess….post here.

as long as you registered with them and they know you’re a customer, i don’t see why they wouldn’t help you out. maybe they won’t give you the unlocker, but would ask for the disk and send you an unlocked version back. i would think they’d want to do SOMETHING for you if they could.

good luck!
