You may notice there are two listings for photshop. Look for photoshop CS4 64bit.
Only the 64bit version of PS will see and use 8GB. As for the slowness of the 32bit version – check the various threads on this forum dealing with graphics card issues. You may find a solution there.

Depends. Extensions like Image Downloader can cause this as they seem to lock some keys and introduce additional context menu handlers. I’ve also had this in relation to NoScript, if a site’s Java code doesn’t load fast enough. In that case it seems the partially initialized engine takes any Unicode/ related feature with it which ultimately makes your entire keyboard go whacko… Likewise I would suspect that in Bart’s case some tool is analyzing the link, tracking or locking it, hence the different cursor. Still, hard to tell what the exact cause might be.

ya true. i don’t run many extensions. noscript, adblock plus and greasemonkey (for ignoring problem posters around these parts).
