How can I select a shape on a layer in PSD in the layers palette?

In my past version of PSD, I was able to simply click on the Layer and hold either select or control to have marching ants go around my image – but with CS2 I am not able to do that.

What am I missing?

"Shapes" are now Shape Layers, Paths or Pixels so it’s not possible.

By the way, what is "select".

To get Marching ants Ctrl-click on the thumbnail in the Layers Palette now.

That’s only for "Shape Layers" though.

Thanks Ed.
I wasn’t actually clicking on the "thumbnail" box itself. Now I got it. 🙂
