Shortcut inconsistancy…

Noticed this with the same version of Photoshop (PS7) on several different machines. The shortcut to Invert Selection is sometimes
Ctrl-Shift-I, and sometimes Alt-Ctrl-Chift-I. I’ve used Ctrl-Shift-I for years in previous versions, but for some reason, I’m
forced to use Alt as well – on some computers, but not others. This also affects any other shortcuts that are normally
Ctrl-Shift-anything. If you look at the item in the menu, it still says Ctrl-Shift, but it won’t work unless you hit Alt as well.
All machines are running Win2000. Any idea if there’s a setting somewhere that would cause this inconsistant behavior?

i’ve had the same problem. i’ve found that when i had my instant messaging program ICQ open, the Ctrl+Shift+I shortcut instead pulls my ICQ from the taskbar and i’m forced to add the Alt, but when i close ICQ i can then use the regular shortcut. maybe you have a program open that uses this shortcut and windows is giving priority to that program instead of Photoshop. hope that helps

A possibility, though I use Trillian for all my IMing (beautiful program, btw), and I deliberately disabled all keyboard shortcuts.
Anyhow, if Ctrl-Shift-I did something in another program, wouldn’t it, well, DO something? On the machines that require the Alt,
Ctrl-Shift-I does nothing whatsoever. I do remember when I used to have ICQ that its shortcuts would take over (until I turned them
all off), but when they did, you knew it, because ICQ would suddenly pop up on the front of the screen. Nothing like that is
happening in this case…
