I’m used to using CS2. I’ve been trying the CS4 trial, but have a problem with printing. Any image I make and try to print (using 600 dpi if it makes a difference) come out very choppy. Meaning solids are grainy, edges are jagged, etc. Almost like it’s a draft copy of something. If I load the same image in CS2 it prints fine. Is there some setting I’m missing on CS4? I’m just using what comes up default on print. Thanks for any info.

What printer? What driver?

That does sound like something we saw from some buggy drivers (fixed about a year ago).

What kind of printer? If you are using a Postscript printer, some things with font embedding and encoding the data may have changed, so it may be necessary to change a few options. I also suggest that you make sure to use the exact same color profiles in both versions. Unwanted dithering is often a sign of color space conversions/ ink separation being askew…

It’s an HP Laserjet 4050TN. As I said, it prints fine on that printer with CS2. Not sure what settings to play with in CS4. Thanks for the replies.
