Hi all,

I have a client that is very important to me. I have taken care of their business’s website for years now. He is in a pinch and wants me to do a couple of print ads for them.

I’ve dabbled in print a little, so I knew what questions to ask the printer, so far, fine. The problem I’m having now is the client keeps sending me photos for the ad that are 72 dpi. I told him that the print ads will need to be 300 dpi… I can’t seem to get him to understand how important this is. I’ve asked him to check his camera settings, he just is not getting it.

I know I could upconvert his photos to 300 dpi, but the quality will not be good, correct?

I would appreciate any advice on this. I admit I am having a hard time with the whole resolution thing as far as going from web to print. but I think I’m on the right track and he isn’t. Please let me know if I’m wrong? or what can I do?

thanks,

JD
