am using photoshop and i need to clear the history. remember i had to hold down some button while the program was starting up. anyone know what that was?

Do you mean resetting preferences? That’s ctrl+alt+shift when launching – requires a lot of fingers, and you have to be quick. You’ll get a confirmation dialog.
