Deleting all pixels of a particular colour on an image (Photoshop CS3)

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and how i can achieve it?

Select > Color range, use the + eyedropper. To delete to transparent you must of course be on a duplicate layer, otherwise hitting delete will go to background color.

If the original is a grainy/noisy photograph, it’s a good idea to do the selection on a blurred duplicate layer to avoid picking up the grain.

Or, if you’re looking to delete all values of hex #xxyyzz, makes sure the eyedropper tool it on 1 px x 1 px, then set the options for the magic wand tool to 0 tolerance, check off anti-aliased and contiguous. Then click the color you want and delete.
