Hi.
My problem started when I was trying to install one of the CS4 premiums. When I was going through and selecting everything I wanted to install, Photoshop CS4 Extended would not select. I clicked a little drop down arrow that said that the reason is because it is already installed. This is not my problem…

I thought it was weird because I had never, ever before had any version Photoshop installed on this computer. But I opted to simply install and then uninstall a Photoshop CS4 Extended trial to see if that would help. After downloading a hefty installer file, I attempted to install it. At the end of the installation I received the following error:

Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack
Error:
Error 2.

LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral
Error:
Error 2.

Crap. But I decided to try to uninstall it anyway. At the end of the uninstallation it says that there were some errors uninstalling some of the components. "For more information see below." And then there’s nothing below. What.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times. What the Christ, guys? Am I forever doomed to have an incomplete, non-working Photoshop on my computer? Is there any way I can simply delete all the files and remove it from the registry?

Okay, it seems to have worked. Thank you.
Jeez, I feel like an ass now. Such as simple solution.

Still, I’d like to know what the deal with the installation error was if anyone has any idea of that. In case it comes up again when I attempt to install the premium again or something.

So, I tried installing the suite again and the installer actually finished but,

The following products failed to install correctly and need to be reinstalled: Adobe Encore CS4
Adobe Flash CS4

Optional components of the following products failed to install correctly: Adobe After Effects CS4
Adobe Contribute CS4
Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
Adobe Fireworks CS4
Adobe Illustrator CS4
Adobe InDesign CS4
Adobe Photoshop CS4
Adobe Premiere Pro CS4

That’s a lot of thing… When I click ‘More Information,’ I get this log: Adobe Encore CS4
Error:
Error 1603. Error 1335.The cabinet file ‘AdobeEncore4All1.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

Adobe Flash CS4
Error:
Error 1603. Error 1335.The cabinet file ‘AdobeFlash10-mul1.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

Adobe Bridge CS4
Error:
Error 1603. Error 1335.The cabinet file ‘AdobeBridge3All1.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

In case you need to know, I’m running on Windows Vista (non 64-bit) and I’ve already run the cleanup script beforehand.
Adobe Support Advisor was of a no use. Help?

Damn, I dunno. If I run it again, would you suggest I run it at the max level and uninstall all the programs?

Where do I change the level? It asks me if for English or Japanese, then if I agree to the terms of service, then what programs I want to install and that’s it.

Using the new CS3Clean Script
< http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb 402767&sliceId=2>

read that page and follow all the instructions…

at one point it says:

"Choose cleaning level by entering ‘1’, or ‘2’ . It is recommended you use Level 1 the first time, and use Level 2 only if you cannot install after running Level 1."

I know there’s also at least a level 3 for stubborn problems. maybe i’m mistaken about level 4. someone else might know…

but READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS before running it.
