I receive the following error when I try to open a PSD file I receved via email:

"Cannot open because a color from an unstalled color table was used."

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Ask the person who sent it to you if they created a custom color table (ACT file). If they did, have them send that along with the image.

What versions of Photoshop are you and the sender using? There are differences in the way different versions of Photoshop access color swatch information.

Is the sender compressing the file (using WinZIP, AladdinSystems Stuffit or something similar) before sending via email? ALWAYS a good idea to avoid file corruption issues). And emailed files should be sent as "Apple Double" so they maintain cross-platform integrity.

There’s a recent thread in the Mac side you may want to investigate <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?128@@.2ccd7195>.
