Using CS3, windows XP. Printer is an HP 3550 color. I know this could be a printer error, but it only happens when I use Photoshop. I get a PCL XL error, IllegalAttributeError. Happens at least 95% of the time, so what I resorted to doing was to format all my work in CS3, then print using my old 5.5. However, many times that will not open!!

Is there some setting in PhotoShop I should check into?? I checked the HP site and all the reasons for this error I seem to have covered.

Thanks,

Glenn

Yeah, that’s a printer driver error. Have you checked for driver updates?

Chris says it is a driver error. If you are using the latest HP driver, then contact them. Perhaps they have one in Beta or something that can get it working.

Adobe can’t fix an error in an HP driver.

I was searching and found some incompatability issues with CS3 and HP. I re-installed CS2 and it prints fine (well, prints too dark but that is an HP issue) so I guess I will have to take a step back for awhile

thanks for your time,

Glenn
