Well, the 8.12 drivers helped some. I can now drag a document window without having the content disappear. It’s still very laggy, though, and the image flickers on and off for about a second after dragging. Text tool is still laggy, as well.

I first installed just the display driver, and that was a disaster. CS4 would either crash at start-up or a few seconds after. So I uninstalled the driver and installed the full Catalyst 8.12 software. We’ll see how it goes over time, but I still look forward to Adobe fixing whatever else is causing the lagginess.

Well, the bizarro behavior is back. I worked in PS for a couple hours, shut down and went to lunch. Came back, booted up the computer and opened CS4. Now I’m back to the window content disappearing after dragging! This is gettin’ old. I made no changes to anything, just shut down and rebooted.

That is a really strange problem.

Indeed, David, CS4 is riddled with strange problems for me, not the least of which is that the problems come and go. In this latest twist, I can at least turn off the OpenGL stuff and get some work done.

Who knows what will happen next time I crank it up.
