Can’t save in JPEG

I just got CS2. I am running it on Vista. I can not save in JPEG. Is there a plug in or somthing to let me save in jpeg?

Check the document mode, bit depth, etc.

JPEG only supports grayscale, RGB and 8 bits/channel.

I suspect you have layers or are using 16 bit. You can flatten the image, convert to 8 bit or use Save For Web to get JPEG.

it is flatten and 8bit. The option is not there.

where did you just got it?

CS2 has not been available for about 3.5 years now.

To Erin,

After you work on your photo, File -> Save As, then put a check in the box "As A Copy" in the Save Options lower down in the window.
Now when you click on the down arrow, for the extension, JPEG should be one of the choices. After saving a "copy" of your (flattens automatically) image, you can then save the original as a PSD with all your layers still active.
