Is there a way to link a Flash file in CS4 (basic) so when they click on the text/graphic the flash file will play?

Yes, but this is something you program into the Flash file, not that you do with Photoshop.

What I am trying to say is that I want to click on a object and then it plays the flash file.

You’ll get more help in the Flash forum.

And please turn off the autoquote in your newsreader.

If you want to be able to click on something other than the flash file, and thus turn it on, I know of no method.

You can click on a button on a page and cause a new page to open (which might be a mirror of the current page) and thus start a Flash playing.

Or, as I mentioned before, you can click on the Flash itself, or any button within it, and make the movie start … if you know the proper Flash coding.
