CS4 upgrade

Does CS4 upgrade interface with previous installed versions of PS or can they be uninstalled? Some programs require the initial purchased program to be installed with the upgrade as they interface, I wasn’t sure if cs4 did the same thing or if it was a complete program. I hope this isn’t to stupid of a question. My original program is cs2.

no. they install in separate folders by default (don’t change that!). you will need to verify an existing version if you’re installing an upgrade. you can do that by just popping in a disk from a valid version, it doesn’t have to be installed.

The CS4 upgrade is a complete program and installs separately from other Photoshop versions. However, the upgrade will require that you supply licensing information from your CS2 version. If Ps CS2 is already installed and activated then that information will be found by the CS4 installer.

Thanks for your quick reply. I have already installed CS4 and wanted to uninstall CS2 if it was a complete program and didn’t interface. Looks like I can go ahead and uninstall it. Thanks again.
