Hello folks,

When I start Photoshop C4, 64bit version, I get this pop up message :

"Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled gpu enhancements."

In Preferences / Performance, it is grayed out so I can’t enable it.

I have latest graphic drivers of course (178.24 XP64), and I have no other problems with my system.

My system :
Windows XP 64bits
RAM 4Gb DDR3
GFX : GeForce 8800 GTS 512 (Dual View 22" + 19") C: 2xWD Raptors (RAID 0) 15Gb Free space <- PS is installed here D: 2x500Gb (RAID 1)

Can anyone please help me ?

Thank you in advance 🙂

It’s the different screen sizes, most likely. This will 90% of the time kill acceleration functions (due to how the driver needs to manage it). You need to adjust your settings to accelerate both screens or force PS to only detect your primary screen.

Hello Mylenium,

I just tried all three settings in :

NVIDIA Control Panel / Manage 3D settings / Program Settings / Adobe Photoshop CS4 / Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration

(multiple display perf mode, single display perf mode, single GPU multiple display perf mode)

without success.

Then I switched to single display mode (no longer in dual view) and I still have OpenGL options grayed out in Preferences / Performance.

I guess I am not in those 90% cases 🙂

Any other ideas ?
