They have great prices, but are they really an Adobe retailer?

They appear to be but they only sell academic versions of software. If you’re not a qualified teacher or student you can’t buy from them.

I don’t see any such requirement mentioned on the site. Not so much as an eligibility link. In fact their product descriptions contain the following statements.

"No need for Academic documents, you can use it for personal usage and small business. You can download this item and burn it on a CD as a backup or you can give it as a GIFT!"

I could be mistaken but something certainly doesn’t seem kosher. Ideas anyone?

if they’re selling academic licenses to non-academics, there’s the problem.

‘…or you can give it as a GIFT!’ That should be a clue that there is definite piracy going on there and they are counseling you to commit piracy. If Adobe is so adamant about piracy they should shut the site down but as we have found, they won’t bother, it will still be there many years from now.

Does Adobe not sell academic versions of their software? If not, seems pretty stupid. If so, well, buy from the source so you aren’t the one being stupid.

Upon further review…the original call has been reversed. The lack of proper spelling and grammar are a pretty good giveaway also.

Reeks of Nigerian pirates, too. My company has been copied several times buy them with host servers all over Europe. The current copy is based in London.

The A-file folks do have a phone number, but it’s in the LA area. A company as big as they claim should have a toll free number, too (not to mention a physical address of some kind or at the very least a reference to where they ship from [which may still be bogus]).

"We do not accept returns for any Roland machines, All defective issues must be taken care of directly through Roland.

A search for these vinyl cutters gave no results, yet they mention them on their shipping and returns page. I’d say they switched the products they try to scam people with and missed a couple spots.

Who knows… maybe they are homegrown American pirates, but they’re still pirates.

All of the posts speaks just on guess and conclusion, I called Adobe and they said that every body can sell Adobe products, As you can buy them in local store.
And as I see this site works for several years, if they were illegal so they must have numerous issues on blogs, forums, … .
In my opinion they are legal.

You registered just to tell us that. It’s nonsense. Not everyone is authorized by Adobe as a reseller.

But knock yourself but don’t come back here looking for help with pirated software.

Reason would suggest this thread should be locked or deleted but I just did a Google search for the domain in question and this thread ranked third. Maybe it should remain here to help similar folks searching with Google. And maybe the thread title should be changed to read "[the redacted URL] is a scam software site you should avoid" so that this thread maintains the high ranking on Google.
