Running Microsoft Windows XP.

When I attempted to uninstall the trial version of CS4 using windows Add/Remove Programs, I received an error message that said that I could not uninstall because Adobe Bridge was running. It was not, but I restarted my computer anyhow . . . same problem. Called tech support (I knew better)to see what they had to say and they reccomended I try the forums, so here I am. Does anybody have any suggestions? I do not like CS4. I would rather upgrade to CS3 and call it good enough. Does anybody know How I can get CS3 . . . Do not want to risk ebay!! Thank you.

You may not see Bridge on your screen but it could be running in the background nevertheless. Look in Task Manager under "Processes" for a Bridge entry and if it’s there kill it. Then try Add/Remove Programs again.

CS3 is getting hard to find. You are right to be wary of eBay but I’m afraid you’ll just have to hunt it out. Bricks and mortar stores may be more fruitful than on-line vendors.

Thank you, you were right. Bridge was set to run on startup. I should have thought of that.
