I’ve searched Help…using a Govt cpu that has Photoshop CS2 on it…and I’ve called Tech Support. I have no experience with this program, and need to add some text into an existing .Psd file. Can anyone offer ideas?

Click in the ‘T’ tool on your tool bar, then click in your document and start typing.

The above answer will give you a line of text (you need to press enter to go down to the next line).

If you want a paragraph of text, (with automatic line wrapping) you should drag to the width you want the paragraph to be. The depth of the rectangle does not matter, as it will grow as you add lines.

Well, I’ve tried. Does the fact that it’s a preexisting .Psd file matter? I’m just trying to add a phone number to an Ad in this format. When I’ve attempted the T method as described, all that I see when I type is a white "————–" for the phone number, no matter what I change font size to…

Sounds like you need to change the color on the swatch. If I were guessing your file has a white background and you are trying to type the text in the color white.
