Downloaded photoshop CS4….
Looked at a tutorial…

Tried to do the extract thing…

But the extract control is not under the Image menu. I can’t find it. Where is it?

In CS4 it was deleted. Adobe said newer functions do the job better.

If you want it it is in the goodies folderand has to be installed as per the instructions

I don’t have a "goodies" folder under the program’s files. Do you know where else it could be? (I downloaded the trial, but supposedly it has everything in there)

What function does the job better?

I don’t think you get the goodies until you buy the software…I could be wrong however.

Quick selection tool combined with Refine Edge.

Needs practice!

The trial package has a button you click if you want to enter a license key. So it looks like there is nothing left to download, even if you buy. Maybe you can download that goodie file somewhere?

It’s in CS3. You’ll have to copy it and import it into CS4

Adobe offers a separate download of "optional" plug-ins for CS4 available here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4048

Includes an "ExtractPlus" filter which I assume is a variation of the Extract filter found in previous versions.

Haven’t tried this download myself. I’m sticking with CS3.
