Upgrade to CS4 or Elements 7

I have Elements 5, Premier 3, LR 2, and Photoshop CS3.

I am considering upgrading either to Elements 7 or CS4. In looking at the features of Elements 7, it appears to have just about anything a amateur photographer would need and be a little less complicated than CS4. Am I overlooking something that would suggest that CS4 would be a "better" choice than Elements 7?

Thanks

Mike

You may "have" CS3 but clearly you are not proficient in its use or you would not ask that question.
As a long time Photoshop user I find Elements nearly unusable because I cannot work in it the way I would work in Photoshop.
Even if one is proficient in CS3 I would not say that CS4 is a "must have." Not to flame but getting up to speed in the programs you already own will serve you far better than buying the latest version of a program you do not fully know how to use.

Hard to say really having never used Elements. But I would think that after using CS3 Elements would seem a little limiting.

If you have CS3 I see NO reason to get Elements. That would not be an upgrade, just the opposite. I have no opinion about going from SC3 to CS4 as I upgraded from CS(1)

Why don’t you try both trial versions on Adobe website.
