I have CS4 and everything has been working great! I love it! The only problem is that for some reason now I can’t COPY images out of my layers. I can paste anything but now when I select images from my layers, there is no option like COPY available in the EDIT tab. Some others seem to be missing to, such as FADE. My PC is definetly capable of running the program as it was for already a week perfectly. I dont know what could have happened… Please help… Thanks in advance…

Reset the workspace – you hid some of the menu items.

Dude, In that image you need to OK, click on the tick, the transformation before you can do anything else in photoshop.

If it’s not working outside of the transformation – reset the preference….or reboot.

….another thing to try is to disable the export clipboard in the cs4 preferences….

See if that helps.

I just forgot to do that part! It still didn’t work. Ive tried rebooting and resetting the prefs. I also unchecked the export clipboard option. It still wont work. Could it be that a file is corrupt and I need to uninstall and reinstall?

That’s odd..

Can you copy and paste in other programs?

Has the COPY shortcut been changed, somehow???

No it works in my other Adobe programs too. This is really strange… And an inconvenience…

export clipboard should be on. chris, can you check your disc and see if the AlwaysImportClipbd_ON.reg file in in the goodies folder? i don’t have cs4 yet… but that might be useful if it’s still there. in cs3 it was in Goodies\Optional Plug-Ins\Photoshop Only\Optional Extensions.

I disabled the export clipboard as it caused a few issues closing Photoshop when using my large files.

Just tried to search for that file and it’s not on my CS4 DVD or system…

How about re-enabling the export clipboard and rebooting – it may flush it out….clutching at straws though.

Uuummm, interesting!!!…..I just had a look with one of my images and the copy text is grayed out in the edit tab too, however, I can still Ctrl C and paste to another layer…..funny that!

Not sure why that’s the case…

EDIT….D’oh ..you need to select the image ( or part of it ) with the Marquee tool then it’s highlighted….normal behavior.

🙂

Now it works for me too! Haha! But the thing is that before I was able to select without using the Marquee tool, simply by selecting the layer…

Did you select all ( Crtl A ) last time…?

Just goes to show…..simplest solutions’n’that. It did fox me though as I usually use shortcuts…..and naturally assume the problems are bigger than what they really are….:D 😀 😀

My pleasure….glad it’s not a bug!

You’re lucky I have a project on!!!..I MUST procrastinate every 40mins ( meaning 10 ) which has resulted in a OCD problem with this forum. 😀

You have to complete the transform before you can copy
