I have decided to upgrade my PS7 to CS3, what is the difference between CS3 and the Extended version?

Thank you.

Be very careful, almost any version of CS3 you’ll find now is going to be questionable.

Thanks for the replies. I have to stick with CS3 because I can’t upgrade to CS4 from my PS7.

I called Adobe today and they said there should still be some CS3’s out there in retail stores, and I am finding some in some on-line stores as well as CS3 Extended.

Can you elaborate on "questionable?".

Thanks

"Questionable" would mean pirate versions of software for sale on little-known websites or online auction sites.

Finding a real box in a real store would be less questionable.

There was a window when PS7 was upgradable to CS4 during the few days between CS4 being announced and it actually shipping.

One thing to keep in mind is that, at least from the information on the website, once you have Extended you cannot "downgrade" to the non-extended.

OK thanks, after doing some reading I think the extended version has a little more than I need, I don’t do any web design of 3d work, the regular CS3 should be fine.

I’ll have to be sure and order from a store suggested by CNET perhaps.

If you decide you eventually want CS4 Extended, the upgrade from CS3-Standard and CS3-Extended is the same: $349.

I wouldn’t unless you’ve dealt with them or at least HEARD of them before! only way to get it from amazon is resellers. that’s out. officedepot, staples, newegg, buy.com. try the usual suspects, but any fly by nighter is likely to have pirated copies, whether they know it or not.

there were many reports of otherwise legit resellers getting burned with pirated copies because the quality of the product was so slick, shrink wrap, manuals, etc. but in many cases adobe would confirm they were pirated and the resellers had to go back up the chain to try to find where they got screwed before passing on the bogus goods to customers.
