colors display incorrectly in CS4 – i.e. white looks yellow

I recently bought CS4 and have noticed that everything displays differently in Photoshop than anywhere else. I can not get a pure white. Pure white looks yellow, like french vanilla ice cream.

I have tried everything I can think of to rectify this situation. I have tried changing color profiles, etc. but I obviously don’t know what I’m doing, because none of the changes have any effect.

I really need to get this fixed. I have been a Photoshop user for 15 years, and throughout all the versions I’ve used prior to this one, everything displays properly. I am BUGGED by this, big time. Such expensive software should work right.

I am using a 22" Samsung LCD monitor, if that makes any difference.

I can send screen shots to anyone… just let me know.
