I’m new to this site and my computer has Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1.

After I installed Photoshop CS4 trial, it failed to install Photoshop, but the rest were successful. I went to get more information and this is the message:

Adobe Fonts All
Error:
Error 1603. Error 1907.Could not register font . Verify that you have sufficient permissions to install fonts, and that the system supports this font.

Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack
Error:
Error 2.

If there is a topic similar to this one, then I shouldn’t be here!

Are you running the install with administrative privileges?

I have CS2 and the CS4 upgrade fails. I get the "loading setup" screen for a second and then the install hangs. I cannot get the thing uninstalled either. I have gone over the list of requirements and install issues and cannot find a solution.

Any help is appreciated.

Well I downloaded the CS4 trial, everything was complete except for Photoshop, and I can’t get it to open.

Bret: I can tell you have a problem with one of your fonts, which may be working in other apps, but Adobe products are more critical of fonts.

So what should I do?

You need to remove all the installed fonts except for the system fonts, then start PS, if the message is gone, then load 50% of your fonts back and start PS, if the message is there then it is in that group, so start removing the fonts until it stops.

Labourious yes, but it appears to be the only way.

So where can I find them and what font should I remove?

"System Fonts"? You mean OpenType files? Also how do you load 50% back?

Bret,

In Vista the system fonts are locked, if you try to move or delete them it will just return a message saying you can’t.

All other fonts are non-system and can be removed.

For troubleshooting move all non-system fonts to another folder. If that clears up the problem, put half of them back. If the problem then comes back, you know the bad font is in that batch. Take half of them out again, etc, until you have isolated it. You get the idea.

Okay never mind about the fonts, now about the English Language Pack.

Never mind. I manually uninstalled PS CS4. Here’s how I done it on Vista:
1. Click Start.
2. Click on the "Start Search" bar and type in "regedit", then hit Enter.
3. Click continue.
4. Follow this!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Uninstall\Adobe_faf656ef605427ee2f42989c3ad31b8
5. Delete the key file.

Now to reinstall:
1. No need to download both the .7z and .exe. Just find the Photoshop setup application. (search for it if you forgot where the file is)

It works completely. Send me a message if it doesn’t work.
