Thousands of files (images)have been save to a hard drive under CS, CS2 & CS3 in various formats, such as *.CR2, *.tif, *.psd, *.jpg, *.mrw. When I attempt to open the images the following messages are returned depending on the file extension: Could not complete your request because a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or too short). (*.jpg) Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop marker (*.psd) Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document (*.CR2 & *.MRW). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Bob Hartman

Normally that means you have corrupt files, usually due to disk errors.

JPEG and raw files could indicate a problem with ACR, or the "open JPEG and TIFF in ACR" setting. But PSD files never touch ACR.

You could try copying the files to another machine and see if they open, or use another application to try and open the files (it might skip over the corrupt bits).
