I have installed CS4 – twice now – and still get an error that MFC80U.dll is missing. What should I do next?

what os? what patch level? get and apply all windows updates. esp. service packs and .NET updates.

Do you have microsoft visual studio 2005 installed? Might be part of the operating system too. The file might be miss placed. You can scan your computer to see if it is still there. May be corrupt too.

There is a update to C++ runtime for 2008 that may help

I can’t gaurentee that what you download will be the correct version or that it will work. But it should.

3.} Unzip the file to the Photoshop program folder. If that doesn’t work then try copying it to the system folder where the dll files are installed. If you are using Windows XP then the folder will be C:\Windows\System 32.
