Tan background problem CS2

The background color of new image is coming up tan, though ‘white’ is selected. I’ve seen a few posts on other sites about this but there isn’t a clear solution.

I’ve created a new rgb doc and selected white as the background color. The background shows as tan though the color picker shows the white rgb code. The color picker is also not visually displaying white in the pallet.

Nick,

This is usually caused by a corrupt screen profile. Check what’s selected as your active profile. Toss that and create your own by calibrating and profiling your monitor.

This plays up in PS, because PS is colour managed.

Your monitor profile is probably bad, you need to calibrate/recalibrate.

With CS2 you can use Adobe Gamma as a quick fix if you don’t have a calibrator (although that’s not optimal).
