I just came from Borders. I went there looking for a Good Photoshop book dealing with color correcting scans and digital images specifically for print > I have been scanning for a long time but have only been adjusting the B/W scans. Someone else has been adjusting the color. I have been asked to start adjusting the color. After watching the other guy. I decided I need a good book. I have been looking at the film of this guys color adjusting and have been comparing it to my memories of process camera seps of old and I see "night and day". I need a good book. I do not need a book telling me about the tools. I know the tools. I need to know about things like the correct tonal values of flesh tones and gray balance. Highlights and shadow dot percentage on uncoated paper…etc….
I hope I do not open up a can of worms.
Thanks everyone
Ray B

Dan Margulis’s book Professional Photoshop. His is the best book on color correction in general, and the only one that deals in depth with CMYK issues.

Can’t recommend a good book, but you read my photoshop tips for free. Several are devoted to scanning and optimizing images for printing. Look under the tips section on my home page.
