A couple of weeks ago I installed CS4 64 bit in the 64-bit beta of Windows 7. All I did was open it, look at it, do a bit of minimal adjustment to the Prefs, open a couple of photos and pretend to edit them.

I opened it 2 days ago, and it was still fine. It Photoshop had a standard Windows 7 Aero title bar.

Today it has no title bar, just a bit of space above the menu line. Bridge still has a title bar, however.

I’ve trashed my prefs; no good. Trashed them, rebooted. No good.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Mary

maybe it’s the video card drivers as all of them are beta, including the OS. In any case, you should probably report this to Microsoft and not Adobe

Mary,

What happens when you toggle through the three screen modes, with the "F" key?

I’ve posted to the Windows 7 forum – no reply so far.

It may be the graphics card drivers, though I haven’t updated them in the past 2 weeks; and it’s odd that I got the title bar until today.

It cycles normally but returns to the no-title-bar after full screen and full + menu.

What I have found, however, is that I can drag the window by click/dragging on a clear place the menu line. Weird.

Does the 32 bit version behave the same way?

I am using CS4 Extended 11.0.1 on an XP Laptop and a Vista-32 desktop and have no titlebar the same as yours. It has been this way for a while, and I can’t say if it’s ever been different, but it must have been if you remember it different just days ago.

Have you changed the OpenGL settings and/or updated to 11.0.1 recently?

I’ve got egg on my face. The reason I don’t have a title bar is (quoting from a CS4 review), ‘There’s no longer a title bar to consume extra screen real estate unnecessarily.’ !

I must have been running it maximized before yesterday, and didn’t notice the ‘no title bar’ phenomenon.

After reading Steve’s post, I googled harder and found the answer.

Sorry for taking up bandwidth. (On the other hand, if I hadn’t seen that Steve, using Vista not 7, had the same, er, feature, I might have gone through a horrid cycle of reinstalling etc.; so posting did help me!)

And a further note…the CS4 apps don’t automaximize if you drag them to the edge of the window.
