use the Info palette (F8 or window menu, check Info). First change unit of measurement to pixels (you see the plus sign or croshair at the lower left bottom of the info palette, right-click it and choose pixels). Make a rectangle selection and at the lower right bottom of the info palette you’ll see the size W: ### H: ###.

Select/Modify/Expand/Contract and a few others in there aswell. But from here you can change buy as little as a pixel.

select the rectangular marquee tool, on the option bar choose fixed size from the style drop down list. Then input the value you want in width and height input boxes.

Yes, follow what Peace had said. That’s the way to go and very easy.

Here’s what you do. Select the object. If it’s on it’s own layer, you can Ctrl-Click on the layer and the entire object is selected. Make sure Snap to Guides is turned on. Bring guides from the ruler to each of the two edges you want to measure. Make sure your ruler is in Pixels (right click on the ruler).

Now, use the measure tool in concert with the shift key to draw a straight line from one guide to the next. Look at the options bar at the top, it will tell you exactly how many pixels that measurement is.

….or when this selection is made, choose the new document dialog as it will show you the size of what is currently on the clipboard.

Hi Eca Thanks for reply but I want when I press on the object to see its height =… and width = …

On Windows menu, check Status bar. At the botttom of your PS window you’ll see a cascading arrow (black right arrow), right-click it and select Document Dimensions. Make sure you change your unit of measurement to pixels. This applies to whole document per layer. For your selection, you have to rely with Info palette as I said before.

Actually, a nifty hidden little technique is…

In the lower left hand corner of the PS window, where Eco says to display document dimensions, you don’t have to actually change anything – hold down the alt-key and click on that area that displays document size or whatever it’s displaying – a pop up will show.

If it’s on it’s own layer, have the ‘info’ palette open, select the layer and hit ‘Ctrl+T’ to see the dimensions.
