hello,

does anyone know how to export a multi-page PDF document in Photoshop CS4.

It works fine as one page with the SAVE AS pdf menu, but then it does n t allow me( or i didn t see it ;)) to save from a folder several files, or many already opened files on the desktop.

It used to be under > File
Automate
PDF presentation

….

tried with Bridge a solution suggested on some forum, but so far what i succeed to do was saving each page separately…

….

I have the Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium, windows xp64 bits

….

thanks!

yann

Photoshop doesn’t know what pages or artboards are. As a workaround you could save out a file for each page that you want and then go to Bridge, select all the files you just created, go to the Output workspace and in the Layout section set the rows and columns to 1.

You can add extra pages in Acrobat Pro.

or

Use InDesign to make a multi page PDF.

Thank you very much for those propositions.

Unfortunately the adobe CS4 package that we have doesn’t include Acrobat Pro or In Design, and we recently spent "enough" money in software update.

Thanks also for the idea of the workaround in bridge, thought I am still hoping for something more friendly user "exactly" like in CS3 ;))

Thanks,

Do you have Illustrator? If so, bring it in to there, set it up as multiple page tiles and save as PDF with "Create Multi-page PDF from Page Tiles" checked.

It s working ! thanks!
it s just a little bit quite a long process πŸ˜‰ …
I mean compare to the CS3 …. > File
Automate
PDF presentation

I am still dreaming of this quick way. πŸ˜‰

thanks again for taking the time of giving me those advises!

actually i have a question concerning the Illustrator solution.

is there a way to copy and paste the setup of a page.
to avoid the precise drawing process.

or to enter the value of the X and Y size numerically ?

thanks!

Don t worry about my last question,
I figured a way to do it with the rulers and snapping tool.

it s a interesting new approach to my pdf presentation work πŸ˜‰

thanks!

so Bridge CS4 can make multi page PDF or not? or only if you have Acrobat?

PS used to have no problem with understanding multi page with PDF why does CS4 go backwards and ruin a perfectly usable feature that worked easily and conveniently in CS3?
one more reason not to upgrade!!
much of my day is spent making contact sheets into multipage PDF’s, I do not need or use Illustrator or ID and I will not be happy to have to make new work flows for everything that used to work in CS3 and now doesn’t in 4

I don’t understand the problem. My Bridge CS4’s Output module allows me to create a multi-page PDF with the images I select. Is that what you are trying to do?

It gives me several ways to do it also: portrait, landscape, best fit, same image repeated on a page or different images on a page, etc..

This is not working for you? By the way I only have Acrobat Reader installed – not the full Acrobat package.

OK so multi page PDF is still a feature just moved to Bridge instead of File automate

I can’t believe this feature was removed from Photoshop CS4. Sure there are 15 workarounds but why remove if it was working and wasn’t broken. My current workaround is to use Acrobat Reader (Professional). Bridge is a 4-letter word where I work.

No workarounds necessary. It is much easier to create a multiple page PDF contact sheet from Bridge CS4 now, that’s probably why the function was removed from Photoshop CS4. Now, if any of you want Photoshop to work the old way, there’s no problem. Please read John Nack’s blog post about "A few useful reminders": http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2009/04/a_few_useful_reminders. html There you will find all the links necessary to download various plug- ins and Γ²earn about some tricks.

Work around is necessary if you are creating additional layers and editing specific parts of the pdf. Not just opening in bridge and hitting export as PDF
