It doesn’t appear to be for CS3. The latest for CS3 is 4.6?

These are "updates" not plugins.

CS3 supports up to Camera Raw 4.6.

There is support for newer cameras, if that is your concern. Use the 5.6 dng converter to convert your camera’s raw files to dng format, then read the resulting dng files into CS3’s Camera Raw 4.6.

What are the differences between 4.6 version for CS3 and 5.6 version for CS4?
Is it only support for new cameras? Is it a new funcionality on 5.6 version? I have Canon 50D camera. Could I open my CR2 (RAW files) both on 4.6 version and 5.6 version?

Thank you in advance for help

Both. CameraRAW 5.x has new functionality, namely localized corrections.

No, you can’t open them in 4.6 (unless you convert them first to DNG).

There are a number of interesting changes not only with Camera Raw, but Bridge and CS4 itself. Direct support for your 50d may be enough enough reason to upgrade, but you can play around and see if Camera Raw is the cat’s meow for you or not. I still shoot a lot of Jpegs, though ACR is nice and I need to know about it for my customers.
