Photoshop CS4

I have two images open in tag view and I am trying to drag with the move tool one image on top of the tab of the inactive image and it isn’t working. When I drag the active image to the inactive tab the inactive image opens but the active image just becomes the inactive one and it isn’t on top of the inactive one that now becomes the active one. Am I doing something wrong or is there a setting that I must set for this to work? I am aware that I can drag one image on to the other image but in CS4 I thought that you can drag an open image on top of a tab and that would put that image on top of the inactive image?

In CS4 I use SELECT ALL on the image that I intend to drag over to the inactive tag using the move tool.
The inactive tag changes colour or brightness indicating that copy was successful.
Clicking on the file that received the copy sometimes requires further dragging with the move tool to bring the new layer on down.

Rose doesn’t work. I can drag from one open image to another but can’t drag from an open image to a tab.

Hi,

I use CS3, but if I recall correctly what you need to do in CS4 is first drag the image to the tab of the other image…wait until the tab changes? and then drag it to the active image which is open.

Ok Paul your description is the one that is working for me. I had to drag the open image to the inactive tab, keep holding the mouse bottom down, wait for the tab to open and than drag to the open window and that works. Thanks everyone I got it now.
