Here is the website for my baseball PSD file. I’m trying to get my nephews to fit in with the rest of the picture. The coloring doesn’t seem to match. I haven’t taken my Photoshop course in years. Can someone help me make this look like a real photo?

Timothy Schmits, stop making a fool of yourself.
Nobody will download a picture to help you because
‘you have stopped taking your PS course’ or something to this effect. Wake up.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at. This is a Photoshop newsgroup. Unless you’re afraid of a virus!?

I just added a JPEG. Maybe someone could give me a hint of what to do next.

Well I did have someone edit up a PSD file for me on here once, but maybe that was rare?

I don’t have Photoshop installed on my new built system to check for correct names. Or I use them all the times for so many years to even think about it, or I just click the Key Command without thinking to the point I can’t name or give step-by-step instruction.

So I can give you the general information

– COLOR, it’s one of the most basic easiest parts, and you should be able to find more than dozen(s) commands/place/option to change the color of the whole photo or each individual color.

I do mean you should have no problem matching the color. Hmm because I don’t use PULL-DOWN menus often to be able to picture where and what the name … they should be somewhere around the 3-5th MENU (?)

– MASKING, now this part is HORRIBLE and there is no command for this but lot of practicing. Your masking isn’t good for even low-rez displaying, and you really need to spend more time for sharpen your photoshop skill.

Oh, well, it’s just for fun anyways. Tim

so let’s review- you are not asking to learn how to do a specific thing but want step by step how to use PS ALL processes or a volunteer to do it for you?
I would not download psd from unknown person – the jpg is NOT at the link just some firechild image
so twice I went to link for nothing

I would answer your question if you had one or two and had posted a jpg with link
impossible to help w/o seeing a picture

but since it does not matter to you "just for fun" why think we would care ? or work for free?

I uploaded the wrong jpeg. It should have been the baseball scene and not the fire child. Sorry. Let’s just kill this thread.

YES, fun is one of the best ways to master the skill. I started Photoshop from reparing low-rez photos, turning B&W to color, and did what you are trying to do (with the photo you ask the question). IOW, I didn’t mean any negative about what you are trying to do, but I do suggest people to do so.

Besides not good MASKING which will require several other skills, knowing lot of basic commands (so you can find the better/easier solution) to create your own masking style. The MASKING alone may take around a year of hard working (with lot of experience with other skills) to master the masking.

– I use MASKING command on nearly 95-99% of my work. BUT I do not create the masked file like you do (I can pretty much be able to see just by looking at the photo), and I believe most people do the similar style you do.

Like most people, I started with masking the masked file but I never happy with the result, so I developed my very own style. And after years of doing the same technique, and am pretty much be able to do much better and faster than most if not all plug-in or internal command. And just for displaying I can pretty much be able to do within 1-2 minutes (or even quicker), but that is the result of tens or hundreds of thousands of photos

– And besides the COLOR which I have mentioned that you should be able to find more than enough commands to change the color (I spent several months messing around with the color changing/mixer etc.. so I know quite a few of them). Lets me give some example, besides where I live don’t have lot of good natural stuff for photography (I am a professional photographer) and sometime I need some background photo etc.. And I am getting little too old to deal with cold weather (I used to go out photograph winter sence) and spring etc.. so on some warm day when I feel good I just take the camera to park, pond etc. to snap some tree in spring, summer, or fall etc.. then I use the option to change the landscape to FALL or WINTER whatever I like.

Oops! I was thinking about pointing out the photography style too. I do think that the little gentleman is facing the wrong direction, or it may be better to flip him around to have him facing IN instead of OUT. Unless you have some issue with the HANDS then you may have to master the MASKING technique (or LAYER as you may not need to use Mask Command which I prefer)

So, I started Photoshop by REAPIRING old damaged photos this way I was forced to learn more commands to repair the damaged photos. And later, for many years I refuse touching low-rez photo which is a waste of time, and I would rather using that vaulable time improving my retouching skill instead.

I’ve painstakenly used the lasso and zoom tools to cut out the objects like a Photoshop-idiot.

Hopefully I won’t remain a Photoshop-idiot.
