I am currently using a 8600Gt card.
How much have I got to spend to see a significant increase in speed? At the moment 4 CR2 raw files of 21Mb take over 30 seconds to blend as layers.

What makes you think it is the video card and not your processor and amount of memory you have?

What makes you think it is the video card and not your processor and amount of memory you have?
I got the impression from Adobe info.
It says that the GPU is used to accelerate the time it takes to perform some tasks.
