Background Removed – PDF output still shows Edge Glow

Hello –

Using CS5

I have cutout the elements of interest through use of several methods, all to no avail.

combination of eraser, magic eraser, burn tool.. I’ve even gone all the way to make magnification and painstakingly bumped out individual pixels on the edges and in PS and ID the outcome looks great! But when I export to PDF for print, the output generated has a bright edge around the placed image.

Is there a solution?

Help.

Post a link to the unaltered image so we can see what you are trying to do. Background is important

Have you used the "Quick select" tool to make the selection you are trying to extract, and then used the "refine edge" from the "Select" menu.
By adjusting the selection edge and adjusting the pixel size & feathering a bit you should be able to make a clean extraction.

That means it requires much more work

1. You need to improve your removal skill

2. ZOOM IN 200-300+% to study the edge

3. Using brush with lower Opacity to brush around the edge

4. You can also use Layer Mask with specific color (pure white for example) in background

5. I believe there is/are tool(s) to replace any specific color to other specific color. I’ve never needed to use this technique so I don’t know which one it is.

Example, if the color around the edge is Bright RED and you want to replace with WHITE/BLUE or whatever color, then you just select the RED color using Eye-Dropper … and whatever next step I don’t know for sure.

IOW, I don’t have any problem with the edge, so I just use whatever technique I feel like at the moment (I have learned so many little dirty tricks after decades of toying with hundreds of thousand of photos)
