Edit – Fade will record like any other command. The problem you may be running into is that this command is only availble after certain "fadable" operations have been performed.

Before recording your "fade" action you will need to do a command, such as curves, that enables fade. Then verify that Fade is available, and record the operation, specifying the opacity and mode.

Thanks for the reply. Just wanted to hit 1 shrtkey instead of 3 (shft- cntrl -f )

For that, create a new action, and use the Insert Menu Item command from the actions palette menu.
