In Photoshop I did "View/Pixel aspect ratio" and chose Pal-1.09, and saved the file. I understand that this changed the Pixel aspect ratio from square to 1.09.

Then I imported the file to Premiere Pro. I was surprised to see that the Pixel aspect ratio of the still image is 1.0. When I did "File/ get
properties for" the Pixel aspect ratio was also 1.0. When I reopen the file in Photoshop the Pixel aspect ratio is still
1.09.

I need to know why in Premiere the Pixel aspect ratio is not 1.09?

I work with CS5.

you didnt change it, you only altered the view of it in ps, you need to make a new doc of it. Hence premiere sees it as it is saved as. If you have other psd capable programs they will also see it as square pixels

Thanks.
I created a new TIFF file with PAL pixel aspect ratio, but again its properties – as seen from Premiere – where 1.0. Do you know why?

I created a new PSD file and this time its pixel aspect ratio was correct. I would like to work with a tiff file.
