The clone tool in cs6 is not smooth. It jumps or skips as I try to clone something. Everything else seems to work OK.

I had the exact same problem with an earlier version of Photoshop. It turned out to be the mouse drivers. The mouse worked fine in any other program, but for some reason, the cursor jumped around in Photoshop. See if you can get new drivers for your mouse, tablet or whatever device you are using. If not, then try reinstalling the existing drivers for your mouse or tablet.
