Help needed!!! fixing edges of text!!!

Hello all, i’m quite new to photoshop so as always I have gone through and changed settings around to see different results, one of the changes I have mades has seem to make the text less sharpe at the edges, infact it seems slightly blurred…. I am not sure what setting i have played around with but it seems to have made the text bad especially when printing, I have mircosoft word which text prints out fine, so it can’t be the printer… does anybody know what I have tampered with and if so can anybody help me to resolve this issue…. I can see tiny dots around the text after it has been printed…. Thanks in advance for any help

what type of printer? postscript, non-postscript?

question: does a non-postscipt printer print the pixelized screen image of a Photoshop 6 or 7 type layer from within Photoshop, even though said layer is vector?
