Hello,

Is it true that you embed code into pictures for security purposes?

For example:

If I have a picture, I want to embed a copyright note into the image so if somebody steals the picture I can prove that the picture is mine by checking at the code. I’m not refering to adding text in top of the image, I’m refering to adding some kind of code.

Is this possible?

Photoshop comes with the Digimark <http://www.digimarc.com/default.asp?Digimark=0> Demo.

Filter -> DigiMark -> Embed Watermark.

I have added code such as you want the end of a JPEG file using a hex editor such as UltraEdit. It does not show up on the picture and does not interfere with displaying it. I don’t know if this will work with other graphic formats, but seem to remember doing it with BMP files. If you need more details contact me at
