Hi all

from time to time I am zooming through a project in PS7, when all of a sudden the help page will come up…..and up…..and up……and up. This of course only seems to happen when I am in the middle of working on a monster file, and lets not forget – near the end. The thing just keeps repeating til I run out of memory or I Ctrl alt del the things and start again

I have trained myself these days to save save save when appropriate but would dearly love to work out why this is happening

According to my mate Mike at the repro house, the same thing happens with PS7 on their Win2k machine, but not on anything else.

Odds-on it’s a buggy bug (damn Windoze, etc.)…

Yes, this has happened to me many times while using PS 7. Very, very frustrating! At least whatever it was is now fixed in PS CS.

Odds-on it’s a buggy bug (damn Windoze, etc.)…

Win2K has been up, by my logs, for…49 days, 3 hours and ten minutes on this machine. So has PS7, in which time I’ve put out three magazines and, oh, a dozen or two other pieces with 4/C, and hundreds of images for the web.

I’ve never seen such a condition. I’d wager the problem is a little more specific.

I should go to the McAfee site and download stinger (FOC) and run that. It cures ever so many bits of trouble caused by worm and virus’s

yeah,i’ve had that..i would say its a windows bug..through ie6 no doubt.. seems to happen after long sessions of having multiple multilayered files open at once.so..as you say ..always save often 🙂

I had PS7 on my Win 2k machine for over a year now without any problems. I doubt it’s a Windows bug..

We also know this effect on one XP Pro machine. But it only happens from time to time. No problem.
