Have you looked at the standard bunch of filters that come with PS?

I understand that you can do quite a bit by using Adobe Streamline. Hope that helps

In design school, most of the work we did
in illustrator was copying logos with bezier
curves, which streamline does, as mentioned
above, and which can be adjusted in illustrator,
canvas, freehand, and probably a few other
programs. Good luck.
