Can anyone explain why images loaded from my Nikon 5700 open with an embedded sRGB profile in PS 7 but not in PS 6? The latter states that the file has no embedded profile even though it does. Is there some setting I’m missing? I think I’ve looked at every possible place.

Thanks…Gord

Photoshop 7 handles embedded profiles differently. In particular, it reads an embedded EXIF tag in digital images and assigns the sRGB profile to it.

One workaround is to tell Photoshop 6 to silently assign sRGB for images with missing profiles. This is controlled from Color Settings. —
